Hello everyone,

I’m reaching out to this community hoping to leverage your collective expertise in digital marketing and social media strategy. I’m currently verified on Google with a knowledge panel established about me. I have a small follower base across several platforms, roughly between 15,000 to 20,000.

TikTok: 11.6k
YouTube: 2.2k
Facebook: 1.7k
Instagram: 1.6k
LinkedIn: 3k
I even post on Quora and get a few thousand views monthly.

Despite these achievements, I've encountered some challenges in obtaining verification on major social media platforms. I’m looking to understand the nuances that might boost my chances or any specific strategies that have worked well for others here.

Here's a bit more about my background to give you context:
  • I am the co-founder of a startup, a platform dedicated to connecting tech enthusiasts and innovators.
  • I contribute significantly to technology and education through my work with universities and am actively involved in philanthropy through a charity my family founded.
  • My content varies from technology insights, fitness following a life-changing accident I had, educational content, and community-driven initiatives.
  • I was 25 stone and couldn't walk a few years back, I started to post content on Tiktok and people liked to watch my weight loss journey, losing weight. Lost 4 stone and then unfortunately was quite seriously injured last August, 7 bones broken and I've put a stone or two back on, and having to grind again.. I have a long recovery left and people are interested in seeing my recovery again.
Questions:
  1. What specific documentation or proof is generally favored by platforms like Instagram, Twitter, and Facebook to verify an account?
  2. Are there particular forms of engagement or content that enhance the likelihood of verification?
  3. Could my involvement in multiple sectors (technology, education, philanthropy) impact my verification process, and if so, how should I best present this?
Any advice, insights, or shared experiences would be greatly appreciated as I navigate this process. Thank you in advance for your time and help!
